John lives in New York City where he attends Columbia University, working towards a Bachelors degree in Environmental Biology. Originally from Nebraska, he has found a home in the city and its exciting pace of life. Origami has been a passion of his for over seven years, and his models are inspired greatly by the works of master origami artists. One of his goals is to find new ways to combine origami with other mediums to create unique displays of art. He uses much of his free time folding new origami, building 3D models and various gadgets, and recently furbishing custom Halloween costumes. Besides art, he enjoys walking park trails in search of interesting plants, running, and writing movie reviews. He is currently working on creating a map of tree species for Columbia and Barnard campuses.
