Sara Larner currently lives in Los Angeles, where she writes, paints, and attends the University of Southern California, working towards an MFA in Screenwriting. Writing is Sara’s main passion—having recently sold the option rights for an original hour-long television pilot, she is now hard at work in the development process. However, for all the delight she gets from writing, painting has always been a great love as well. While in New York, Sara founded the Aloft Harlem Art Gallery, a not-for-profit gallery aimed at promoting local, emerging talent in partnership with Aloft Hotels. She curates long distance from Los Angeles, reviewing submissions online and flying out to supervise the organization and opening night of biannual installations. Her own paintings focus on the world of cinema, each one an abstract interpretation of a screenshot from a tv show or film.
Sara spends her free time filling painting commissions, dancing, and—whenever there is a breath of time—reading. (Okay, often reading when there is no time and she should really be doing Actual Work.)
